Wildlife Management Services (Critter Control MN) has provided humane, effective wildlife and pest control in Minneapolis for over 30 years. Their state-certified team specializes in eco-friendly solutions for homes, businesses, and municipalities.
In this interview, General Manager Melissa Neitzke shares how the A24 rodent control product has enhanced operations—offering an efficient, humane alternative to traditional rodenticides—and her strategies for modern pest management.
How did you first hear about the A24 and what prompted you to try it?
Melissa: I believe the first time I saw the A24 was in the NWCOA catalog (I’m not positive it was NWCOA, but it was a catalog). I was looking for an effective method of population control without using rodenticides.
What challenges were you facing before using the A24?
Melissa: Frequency and effectiveness of other traps (we use this mostly for mice and it works great!). Some clients don’t want rodenticide treatments at their homes, and we lacked other effective population-control methods.
How has the A24 impacted your day-to-day operations?
Melissa: We’ve only purchased a few so far, but they’ve helped greatly with identification and population control in clients’ attic spaces.
Any unexpected benefits?
Melissa: We were happy we could use an alternate bait option. We’ve seen more success using our own peanut butter rather than the provided bait.
How easy was it to incorporate the A24 into existing processes?
Melissa: Seamless. We use it as an alternative to other rodent traps—fewer site visits, more critters dispatched.
Would you recommend the A24 to other professionals?
Melissa: YES, and I have! It doesn’t work in every situation, but in large infestations and as an alternative to bait stations, it works great.
Results so far—populations and client satisfaction?
Melissa: Faster population reduction with visible results—especially with the Digital Strike Counter.
Favorite feature?
Melissa: The ability to place the trap and leave it for multiple days without checking. Fewer visits, better results.
How will you integrate the A24 long-term?
Melissa: For clients who want long-term population control without rodenticides, we’ll offer recurring interior/exterior services to check traps.
Has reduced labor let you take on more work?
Melissa: Yes—we can serve more clients because we offer a method beyond rodenticides.
Has reduced labor improved costs or profitability?
Melissa: Too soon to tell, but efficiency has definitely improved. We haven’t tested every product yet.
Where is the A24 most effective?
Melissa: Attics! Clients often think they have squirrels until we set an A24 with a trail cam—usually it’s mice, and often a lot of them.
Which facilities benefit most?
Melissa: Farms and rural properties benefit greatly. In urban areas, tampering or theft can be an issue—secure boxes help when we can fasten them properly.
